In November 2002, I had an opportunity to cross the Pacific. I heard about it from a website, and I only had a week to pack and leave. I agreed with my company that I could go, if I carried on with my work from the boat. I packed a satellite phone and a laptop, and I flew off to California, having only had 3 days to prepare myself. This is my story, reconstructed from emails that I sent to my friend at home, Marge. For that reason they tell a very personal and frank story, but they are an honest log of an amazing journey.
